Today Gary and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. It’s so crazy to think we’ve been married for 17 years because that seems like such a long time. Then at the same time it doesn’t seem that long ago when I first met Gary at Brian and Reneé’s Christmas party in December 1995. For the past few years Gary has had to attend a conference right around our anniversary and today he had to leave for California. It stinks we aren’t able to celebrate today but we have plans for next weekend.
I included our engagement photo in today’s layout. My daughter, Gillian, had the biggest laugh saying how young we look and how we don’t look like that anymore. Yes, it’s true…we do look like babies. I also told my sweet Gillian, she’ll be there one day too. 🙂
The kids and I decorated the Christmas tree…FINALLY! We had a great time reminiscing about past Christmases and what their favorite gifts have been. I mentioned in my second foundations video at the end how I haven’t had much Christmas spirit. Not sure why that is but I can honestly say this Christmas is different. I’m enjoying decorating my house where it doesn’t seem like it’s a chore, having fun shopping and really am having a great time working on my December Daily album. I truly feel this album has helped me with whatever sadness I had experienced in previous years.
I love how my ornament “Christmas tree” page came out. I took pictures of some of the ornaments I get for my kids each year. I used a 1″ square punch and Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them off the Fancy Gold Designer Vellum. It was a lot of fun to do and on the back side of the chipboard I’ve ordered an enlarged photo of our Christmas tree.
How is your December Daily coming along? I hope you are having as much fun with this daily journal as I am.
